Who runs this
ShoreGrade is published by Headway, a web and marketing business in Simcoe County, Ontario. Headway sells website and marketing services to local businesses, including services that would improve the things measured here. That is a conflict of interest and we state it plainly rather than leave it to be discovered. No business can pay to raise a grade, to be listed, to be removed from a ranking, or to be placed higher in one.
What a grade is
A ShoreGrade grade measures a business's website and its Google Business Profile. Nothing else. It is produced by an automated review of publicly available material, using the same checks and weights for every business, whether or not that business is a Headway client.
A grade is not:
- an assessment of the quality of a business's work;
- a statement about its service, reliability, honesty, safety, licensing, insurance or financial standing;
- a certification, accreditation, endorsement or recommendation;
- advice on whether to hire anyone.
Automated measurements carry noise. Speed varies between test runs, and a grade describes a website on the date it was reviewed, which is shown on every business page. A site may have changed since. Scores within a few points of one another should be treated as equal.
Screenshots
Each business page shows a screenshot of that business's own public homepage, identified by domain and capture date. It is reproduced as the evidence for the review published on the same page, and for no other purpose. If you own a site and object to the screenshot, tell us and we will remove it.
Corrections and removal
If a grade is wrong, the details are wrong, the site has changed, or you want your business taken off ShoreGrade entirely, email hello@headwaydigital.ca or use the "Report a problem" link on the business's page.
We take a disputed page down while we look into it. We answer corrections and removals within five business days. Re-reviews are free. You do not need to give a reason to be removed, and removal is permanent unless you ask us to reinstate you. We keep a dated record of every request and what we did about it.
Using this site
ShoreGrade is provided as it is, without warranty. Decisions about who to hire are yours. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with a business listed here and we do not vet, supervise, guarantee or insure anyone's work.
Do not scrape, bulk-download or republish this site's contents, and do not use it to harass any business listed on it.
If you think something here is wrong
Tell us before anything else. Nearly everything we have been asked to change has been changed within a few days, at no cost, and without argument.
